What personal information we collect and why we collect it

Comments

When visitors comment on this site, the information displayed in the comment form is collected, as well as the visitor's IP address and the user agent string defining the browser, which helps to detect spam.

Gravatar may be provided with an anonymous string created from your email address (also called a hash) to determine if you are using this service. The Gravatar Privacy Policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. Once your comment is approved, your profile image is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to this site, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS). Site visitors can download and view any location data from images on the site.

Cookies

If you add a comment to our site, you can allow the name, email address and website to be stored in cookies. In this way, we try to increase your comfort when writing a new comment by not having to fill in this information again. These cookies will have a lifetime of one year.

When you visit our login page, we set temporary cookies to verify that your browser accepts cookies. This cookie does not contain any personal data and will be cancelled when you close your browser.

When you sign in, we also set a few cookies to save your login information and to set the screen display. Login cookies have a lifetime of two days and display settings cookies have a lifetime of one year. If you confirm the "Remember me" option, your login will take two weeks. If you sign out of your account, login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, another cookie will be stored in your browser. This cookie does not contain any personal information and simply indicates the ID of the post you just edited. Expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other sites

Posts on this site may contain embedded content (such as videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the same way as if a visitor visited another website.

This website may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional tracking from third parties, and track your interaction with this embedded content, including tracking interaction with embedded content if you have an account and are logged into the website.

How long we keep your information

If you add a comment, the comment and its metadata will be kept indefinitely. The data is stored for automatic recognition and approval of all subsequent comments, instead of being held in the moderation queue.

For users who register on this site (if they have this option), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit or delete their personal information at any time (except that they cannot change their username). Webmasters can also view and edit this information.

What rights do you have?

If you have an account on this site or have commented on it, you can request to receive an export file of the personal information we store about you, including any information you provide. You can also request the removal of any personal information we store about you. This option does not include data that we are required to retain for administrative, legal or security reasons.

Where do we send your data?

Visitors' comments can be reviewed through an automated spam detection service that can be placed abroad.

This Privacy Policy applies as of 26/10/2019.
